A Treasury of Iqbal

An introduction to the thought and poetry of Muhammad Iqbal (d. 1938), philosopher and poet of the Indo-Pakistan sub-continent, by Abdur Rashid Siddiqui. Hardcover, for readers 18+.

Muhammad Iqbal was a thinker, philosopher and poet, and one of the key architects of contemporary Islam. Through his thoughtful writing and soul-transforming poetry, in both Urdu and Persian, he infused a new spirit in Muslims, not only in India and Pakistan but also in Iran, Afghanistan, Central Asia and the Middle East.

He challenged the western concept of nationalism and expounded the concept of Islamic nations, on which the idea of Pakistan is based. A Treasury of Iqbal offers a glimpse of his thought and contribution.
